“Great communication, wonderful space and the location couldn’t get much better! You are right in the village. Pool and hot tub close by. Can’t wait to get back!”

Our group had an amazing stay here. The location was perfect for our family, and the home was well equipped with everything we needed for the kids as well. The hot tub area is in a quiet location and we were the only ones who seemed to use it. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway!

Very beautiful and clean place with great amenities! The new updates make it modern and comfortable. It’s in a great location: we were in a nice serene area but still very close to Whistler Village and a 10 minute walk from Lost Lake. They also had great items for children (booster seats, dining set and toys) which made it easy on our family members. Karlie was also a great host- she was very communicative and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

What Makes Whistler, BC a Top Ski Destination?
Whistler, BC, is one of North America's premier ski destinations, known for its vast terrain, stunning natural beauty, and world-class facilities. Here are some interesting facts about Whistler as a ski destination:
1. Two Mountains, One Resort
Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America, consisting of two mountains—Whistler and Blackcomb—linked by the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. This 4.4 km (2.7 miles) gondola ride holds the record for the world's highest lift, reaching 436 meters (1,430 feet) above the valley floor at its peak.
2. Over 8,000 Acres of Terrain
The resort boasts 8,171 acres (3,296 hectares) of skiable terrain, offering everything from beginner runs to some of the most challenging expert terrain in the world. There are 37 lifts in total, including chairlifts, gondolas, and a high-speed lift network.
3. Massive Snowfall
Whistler receives an average of 10 to 11 meters (33 to 36 feet) of snow annually, thanks to its location on the coastal mountains. The snow is typically light and powdery, making for excellent skiing conditions.
4. Host of the 2010 Winter Olympics
Whistler was one of the key venues for the 2010 Winter Olympics, with events like alpine skiing, sliding sports (bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge), and ski jumping held in and around the resort. The Olympic Village remains a part of Whistler's infrastructure, and the Olympics gave the resort a global boost in popularity.
5. A Long Ski Season
Thanks to its high elevation and extensive snowmaking infrastructure, Whistler's ski season typically runs from November through May. This extended season is a big draw for skiers looking for spring skiing or early-season powder.
6. Largest Vertical Drop in North America
Whistler Blackcomb offers a vertical drop of 1,609 meters (5,280 feet) from the top of Whistler Mountain to the valley floor, making it one of the largest vertical drops in North America.
7. World-Class Terrain Parks
Whistler is renowned for its terrain parks, which attract freestyle skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. The resort features a variety of parks for all skill levels, including the famous Whistler Terrain Park.
8. Heli-Skiing and Cat-Skiing Opportunities
For those seeking an even more exclusive experience, Whistler offers some of the best heli-skiing and cat-skiing in the world, with untouched powder and epic backcountry terrain just a short ride away from the resort.
9. Whistler Village
The resort's pedestrian-only village is an après-ski haven, filled with boutique shops, restaurants, and bars. Whistler Village's charm lies in its alpine atmosphere combined with luxury amenities. You can take a walk around the village and enjoy a hot drink by the fire or indulge in a spa treatment after a day on the slopes.
10. Environmental Sustainability
Whistler Blackcomb is committed to sustainability. It has implemented energy-efficient initiatives like using renewable energy, installing snow-making systems that reduce water and energy usage, and encouraging eco-friendly practices across the resort. The resort has a stated goal of being carbon-neutral by 2030.
11. Whistler's Peak 2 Peak Gondola
As mentioned earlier, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is a significant engineering feat. Not only is it the highest lift of its kind, but it also holds the world record for the longest lift in the world, covering a distance of 4.4 kilometers (2.7 miles). It takes you between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains in just 11 minutes, offering jaw-dropping panoramic views.
12. Whistler’s Backcountry
Beyond the marked trails, Whistler offers backcountry skiing that is accessible right from the ski slopes. These areas provide skiers and snowboarders with access to deep powder, wide-open bowls, and challenging terrain, though it's important to venture out with proper avalanche knowledge and gear.
13. Cultural and Seasonal Events
Whistler offers more than just skiing. Throughout the year, the resort hosts a variety of events like the Whistler World Ski & Snowboard Festival, Crankworx (a major mountain biking festival), and Whistler Film Festival. These events add to the vibrant, year-round appeal of the resort.
Whistler is a ski destination that offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking for world-class powder, diverse terrain, luxury accommodations, or a lively après-ski scene. Its combination of natural beauty, extensive facilities, and adventurous activities make it a must-visit for any ski enthusiast.
